The SEB Life Division is looking for a Mainframe Developer to work in their Life and Pension and Asian Development Center. The successful candidate will be an important part of the SEB Life Division IT development group. Employment Overview
SEB Pension is setting up the 3rd mainframe development team in Kuala Lumpur. The applications are built on SEB’s IBM mainframe running z/OS, developed in PL1, COBOL and CICS, against DB2.This incumbent needs to be capable to cover business analysis, and software development, covering areas functional spec, design & technical specs, coding, documentation & testing.
Each team member would have minimum 3 years of solid COBOL/PL1 experience. They would have the same core experience in their own field. You would be also working concurrently with the team in Denmark. Therefore, you should demonstrate ability to exhibit excellent leadership and communication skills and possess a proven ability to be self-motivated to remain current in both the application development practices and industry standard technology practices. Preferably someone who has experience being a team player in international teams (incl. cultural awareness, virtual working).
Technical Requirements
The right candidate must possess an appropriate education and have several years of relevant hands on experience in COBOL/PL1.Must be theoretically sound and possesses good analytical skills.
The candidate must be used to working in projects and have interest in the management of tasks and management of small / medium sized projects.
Experience in TSO and JCL is mandatory
Must possess strong problem solving and debugging capability
Has strong experience in deploying batch processing applications.
It is important that you: - are professional, quality conscious, systematic and analytical - have collaborative skills and experience - are proficient in SDLC and production migration procedures
Good to have:
Experience within the finance industry is preferred (but not necessary).It is good that you can work seamlessly with COBOL/PL1 and DB2/SQL
Advantage if you have CICS online application development experience
Advantage if you have working experience in a Scrum/Agile development environment
Outgoing and good at communicating both in writing and orally.
Travelling Requirements
You may be required to travel to Europe depending on project requirements.
