Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Carry out engineering studies and perform data analyses as needed to ensure efficient production processes, to ensure excellent product quality, and to enhance yield
• Support process characterization studies and process and equipment qualifications
• Execute performance qualifications and production sample generation runs
• Participate in multi-site, multi-functional teams comprising material science, packaging engineering, automation engineering, metrology and calibration, validation, and manufacturing operations personnel
• Investigate process and quality failures, identify root causes,  and provide preventative and corrective actions related to them
• Support engineering projects (improvement/transfer/equipment) to ensure full delivery of scope items within constraints of time, cost, and quality. Manage change request activities from concept to completion
• Demonstrate ongoing development of technical skills in general technical and process-specific areas. Apply strong critical thinking and rapid learning capability in risk assessments, reviewing technical specifications, and creating standard operating procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
• Five to seven years of relevant working experience (GMP medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred)
• Hands-on experience in developing, optimizing or troubleshooting chemical, pharmaceutical, aseptic, or packaging processes is a plus
• Excellent critical thinking skills required. An ability to frame ill-defined problems in scientific and engineering terms is essential
• Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with common statistical analysis is a plus.
• Good communication skills (spoken, written, and technical)
