Chefs Direct area looking to recruit a sous chef for a fantastic gastro pub in the Chard area of Somerset. This well established business has acquired an enviable reputation for it's food over the years and now the owners are looking to appoint a sous chef to assist with continuing the good work. The food currently on offer has a very strong focus on seasonality and provenance and in this role you will be working with a frequently changing menu that makes the most of the great local produce available. As sous chef your responsibilities will include: assisting with the day to day running of the kitchen, deputising in the head chef's absence, ensuring agreed GP targets are met, maintaining appropriate EHO/HS documentation and training of junior members of staff. This is a great opportunity for an existing sous chef or ambitious chef de partie looking for their first sous chef position. To be considered for the role you MUST:- Have a solid understanding of classical and modern British cuisine.
- Have a minimum of 2 years experience at CDP level.
- Have a background in working with "from fresh" food only, preferably at a minimum of 1 rosette level.
- Have a CV that reflects longevity with previous employers.
- Be looking for a long term position.
- The salary on offer for this position is negotiable, plus tips.
